| With the indroduction of a new tank that was delivered a few days ago looking better than ever, we were now able to proceed with setting up the inside of the tank and completing the filtration and cooling systems. Let's start out with the rock. |
Roughly 150lbs of live rock were brought over. A lot of shelf style rocks, like the one to the right, will become the stage for some live coral. |
Also are some good pieces for some natural caves and some more sculpted decoration. (Just wait for the rock on the right - pictured below) |
The tank bottom covered with the coral substrate and then introducing the live rock to the tank along with some bottom cleaning pumps. |
The the left is the protien skimmer. To the right, is the 5 trough filtering system, protien skimmer, and air conditioner unit completely set up. |
Now... Let there be LIGHT!!!! (Shelves from top down, front view, and Ol' Gramps makes an appearance) |
Now let's add the the water |
Frontal view in the living room to the left and rear view from the kitchen (in front of the mini-bar) to the right this morning. |
| Now comes the cycling process to establish a stable ecosystem in the tank for intorducing living inhabitants and allow the filtration system to break itself in. I missed the photo of the top 3 tier filter that is connected to 2 pumps located inside the tank. They can be seen from the kitchen view picture to the right. The rocks are set up with complete flow under all that shelving and I checked to make sure that they are quite stable now that the water has been added. It looks like a lot from the front (well, I guess it is), but from the side you would be able to see that there is a large network of open space throughout the entire tank. More to come soon. |
