Welcome back to the reef. Things have become much smoother as I have just completed my 2nd tank partial and the brown growth on the glass and rocks has become non-existant. Safe to say that the water has completely cycled and the reef is a bit more stable. A few problems arose after I lost a few more fish to ick as soon as I added them to the tank, so I held off on new fish stock with the exception of a small school of blue/green chromis which did show the signs of ick and it cleared up on it's own. The feather star was doing well on its own until the hermits felt the need to chew it into pieces. Also the tomato clown, which I feared would be gone due to a complete covering of ick, happened to come around and beat it himself. I had a large supply of shrimp in the freezer which I was also thawing out to feed the anemone and it didn't agree with them either. Sad to say, I had to remove them from the tank as two had climbed under the rockwork and began to die as I couldn't feed them myself. Corals, on the other hand, are blossoming and doing fantastic so I went ahead and added some new stock and shifted a few of the old ones which are now looking great too. In addition, I found some great looking oddities that have settled in too. |
